Last week, I shuddered in nostalgic quasi-horror as I saw this cover design that so viscerally reminded me of my youth. Why is Czerny the instructional standard for Korean kids learning to play the piano? I have nothing against YOU though, Schubert.

Shoulder rest (old)

This is my old shoulder rest. It's meant for 1/2 and 3/4 size violins (meaning I've been using it since I was 7 or something) and I wondered why keeping my violin in place never felt comfortable. Now it is all too clear why that was the case. Look at the ratty rubber haha. Behind it is the camera I got sometime around Thanksgiving.

New project

On his 2008 tour, for "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.", Jason Mraz has had a projection screen on stage behind him that flashes the words "FOND OF" and lists a bunch of things he's, well, fond of. These things include hats, avocados, and voting no on prop. 8. I've decided to do an occasional post on various things I'm fond of (honestly, for when I have nothing else to post about).
